For The Good Life

My life has been colorful lately. As colorful and sweet as the cakes and the cocktail and the fruits in my picture. Working life somehow feels a bit tiring, but I think I should cut it a slack and starting to get used of it.

Well..It's almost the end of November, and the fact that December is coming onboard really amuse me..Yayy!
December has always been my fave month...besides May of course.
It's the month when happiness meets joy, whereas additional calories is just embraceable and tolerable.

She Smiled Because...

The week is about to come to a beginning...again! What have you guys been doing? I celebrated a friend's birthday, made several hanging outs, joined an outing at Taman Dayu, and also attended Terrence's first birthday party last tuesday. Last year I made a post about Grace's baby shower, now his son is already turning one. Time flies! I wish I have wings too!

I heard a taichi master once told his students to always leave a margin. I was trying hard to comprehend his advice, which by then I came to a conclusion, that it means always keep space between my car and the one in front of me, always keep extra money in my saving account, and make sure that I don't book too many appointments so that I can be on time and still have time for myself at the end of the day. It's a great advice that I have ever heard. :D

Alright then. The instrumental music is on, the aromatherapic fragrance spreads all over the room. It's time to get the lights off and sleep a good dream. Good night and have a great week! :)

Do what you love and love what you do. That's just so classic, though it's not that easy when it comes to the daily practices.

Do you always love what you do? Have you ever for the slightest chance feel some kind of regrets of not doing what you love instead of doing what you can't say no of not doing it?

Sometimes, in life you have to learn to say no instead of yes for the things you don't favor, 'cos at the end of the day, you just can't satisfy everybody. If someone is happy, it means someone else is unhappy on the other side, and vice versa. So if you can't make everybody happy, why don't we just make ourselves happy?
If not us, who else will, isn't it?
This thing...I still learn!

Been a while, yet many events had happened, both happy and sad.
A friend just celebrated her 31st birthday yesterday, 3 friends just given birth, while a dear friend just undergone a miscarriage. Feeling so sorry for her. I'm just wishing her the best recovery that she can get, and looking forward to hearing the happy news again very soon. By that time, I hope it's gonna be a very smooth sailing.

I remember a saying that we want is not always the best for us, that when we failed in getting it, it is actually for the best. I believe things happened for a reason, that we don't get it now. But sometime later when we wake up we probably gonna say something like this: "Thank God, I didn't get it, cos if I did, then I will never....."

Afterall, I believe the wheel keeps turning, that makes everyday, that comes and goes, different from one time to another. But, until what we don't know what may comes next, all I can say is just....

Missing Makco

Aloha! Mama is backk to the island. Been overwhelmeded with lots of things for this couple of weeks, and now I'm back for good :)

Just done watching my fave serial and reading a few pages of a new book, then suddenly I remember that I missed blogging so much. But while I have no idea what to write maybe I will just share something I read from a BBM status of a friend a few days ago.
It states that "Whatever belongs to us will not be taken away from us and whatever doesn't belong to us, will not be obtained for whatever way. Every being will only get what is supposed to be his." -Bhikku Uttamo

It explained best that sometimes what we get or what we experience is just out of the league and of something we have never imagined before. Have you experience this kind of thing?
It means that what is meant to be ours will always be ours, for whatever reasons that sometimes comes in a shocking way...I guess?! While on the contrary, sometimes how eager we are into something, and how hard we try to achieve them, we just don't get it. Do you agree on this, guys? :)

Lately, I heard of this Psy's Gangnam Style music video which is so popular and has drawn 120 million views in You Tube within a month, and so many celebrities adopting the horse stomping dance style. The other day, I was so tempted to watch. Well, after watching it...I kind of like it. It's an energetic yet cool song that makes me want to move along with this song.

A recent news is that Ms.L is taking an intensive language program in Beijing and just got departed this morning. One more great fellow has left huhuhu. I'm wishing her all the luck and fun in there, and so looking forward to meet her in the next 3 months, and by the time I wonder whether she might bring an Oppa to get us introduced to. All the luck goes to you, Makco! :)

A friend of mine is about to tie the knot in Bali in few months to come, and she's preparing everything up starting from now.

For everyone's surprise, they just known each other for just 5 months and hence she has gained everyone's wows for sure. I guess fate has let them two met and mated, and led it to a happy end.

I listened a lot about her story and I remember she said something about her relationship.
"From nothing becomes something. From something becomes my everything. That's how God works in my life, and I will never be the same anymore."

Such a remarkable story she had, and speaking of story, sometimes I wonder how my story would have begun and ended. I hope it would be just as fantastic as it could be.

I am currently listening to 'Love lights the world' and relating with the story above, I strongly believe that love has lightened her world, as she glows even more than ever.
I'm just wishing all the best for her down to aisle preparation. XO

Last time I watched a movie with my cousins and there's a quote I love. Here's how it sounds:

I found it somehow makes a lot of sense.
Sometimes we think too much about something, while the outcome doesn't always be the way we assumed, and sometimes too much thinking has discouraged us to do things we need to do. It happened to me. Have it ever happened to you?

I will definately try to apply this 20 seconds of courage next time I am being hesitate about something, and we'll see the outcome by then. Hopefully good things will happen out of it #crossing fingers#

Midnight in Silva Island

Last week I was on a road trip to Malang and Batu having a culinary trip that making me gained a pound, and today while things have started to be getting back on track again, the weight haven't. so I must be working real hard to slash this remaining pound. *sigh*
Somehow I'm still missing holiday, but I guess holiday will never be enough, isn't it? So, let's just face the reality!

I just finished watching my fave serial and suddenly I realized that I havent been blogging for a while, so here I am updating my blog tonight. I'm about to share meaningful lines that caught all my senses from the serial, and here the lines go:

The Nachos Chronicle

The long holiday has finally started.
What are you guys up to?
I'm having a 2-day family gathering at Trawas, and tonight we were having a mexican dinner full of nachos and tacos and friends. The tummy is happy and everyone is happy. Mexican dinner had made our night, and hence we call it a Mexican night. :)

After the dinner I was walking down the villa with my little cousins, and I was trying to capture the beauty of the stars in the sky, unfortunately nothing could be seen from the screen. They don't think the stars are pretty, but I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?

I just read an article about Letting Go by Desy Anwar, and I found it profound.
It's worth reading anyway.

Last but not the least, Happy Eid Mubarak for everyone who celebrates it!
Just let go all the bad memories, and let's start fresh. If there's a time to start a new beginning, this is it!

Giddy Up!

The joy of life comes from all the little things summed up together.
Just like yesterday while eating this while I haven't eaten since ages ago, and continued by having tea time with besties at a cozy cafe, sharing stories and laughter after haven't seen each other for a week. It was so good..

Singing our fave song while taking shower can also brighten the mood, just like happened to me while I hummed this Payphone song while taking a shower this morning. :)

Sometimes, by hearing an unexpected happy news from a friend can also make me happy, just like when I was told this afternoon by a dear friend that she is finally expecting a baby after waiting it for quite some time. It was that touching moment while seeing her expression and happiness that I would say...a total priceless.

It can even coming from inside, just like when you wake up and mirror yourself looking fresh and you feel just happy. That is it!

Somehow, happines is just that simple. It can be from everyone, coming from everything and can be unpredictably everywhere. Because afterall, it's the little things that counts.

Once in a Blue Moon

Tomorrow is going to be another saturday...

I still vividly remember how the last 3 weekends spent, and tomorrow another weekend is coming along.

Time is speeding around, isn't it?

So...any plans for weekend?

This picture was how the moon looked like last saturday as I just finished my korean dinner and walking down the parking lot. I just wonder how the moon gonna be look like tomorrow.
Will it exactly be just the same, slightly different, or totally different with the one I saw last week?!

But then I remember a phrase that we won't cross the same water twice, so I'm just doubting that I'm gonna see a moon from the past week again...Moral of the story is to let us cherish anything cherishable for the chance being as there probably won't be any second chance at all. It all makes sense, isn't it?

As for the moon, however it looks like, I'm gonna make it a memorable one.

My relative and bestfriend are in town at the time being, and we just got back from a japanese dinner and feeling good. Obviously a happy tummy makes a happy heart.

Well...The week has finally drawn to an end...Again?! It's August already...can you believe the year's half over? It seems like just yesterday that we were ringing in the new year. How is it that so much time has passed so quickly? Have I just been so busy that I've failed to notice?

Anyway...C'est la vie...They say time runs quickly when we have fun....Let's start counting our blessings and be grateful for everything we have, instead of things we don't!

G: And more, why don't you visit me that often now?

B: The ticket is just so expensive. Unless, you pay for my ticket. Haha joking!

G: OMG! You are too stinggy to be true. Don't blame me if someday I might just give up on this relationship.

Guys, do you think virtual communication can really replace real communication? I think it works on some solid relationship, other than that I'm just so doubting it.

Somehow I recall a friend's saying: "I wish blackberry didn't exist, so I will not be so easy to get reached. Somehow, the easier you get reached, it just won't do any good. And more, in term of relationship, despite the fact that it has eased so many things, but for some ways it just doesn't show the efforts. So, if only I can choose, I would prefer of not using blackberry"

It does make a lot of sense to me. Anyway, there will always be pros and cons in everything, isn't it?

Hey guys, if any of you are already or about to get into a long distance relationship, welcome to drama! things are not gonna be easy. But, if you think the one is worth fighting for, go for it! Things to remember, do not ever give up on communication, do not cheat, and last but not the least, never take things for granted, cos you never know how precious someone is until they're gone.

That's it sharing for today. It's a true story so I put it anonymous. I hope it will be a learning lesson and something to ponder upon.:)

Some leads it to a happy end, while some leads it to a dead end.

Despite the fact that love failed sometimes, people still believe in this confusing philosophy called love. Why?

I guess, love is all we have to keep the world goes around, isn't it?!
To love and to be loved should be in a package, but sometimes when it doesn't go together, it doesn't mean it won't. Sometimes, all we need is just a little time and a sprinkle of pixie dust to work the package perfectly :)

What do you do when you get bored and want to experimenting on something different so that life would be less boring?

In my case, it's changing my bangs.

While I've been having this side-parted bangs like forever, yesterday I changed my bangs to middle-parted one, like the one miss piggy is having :D

Well, it looks good on her, but apparently not on me.

As soon as I entered the room, many comments bursted:

R: "Hey Sil, you didn't cut your bangs, instead of changing it to 'piak silit' one"
Well, I just got to know this kind of bangs term LoL

D: "Hey, you remind me of my Momm...You look so outdated!"
OMG! Do I look that outdated?!

H: "What happened with your hair? You look so messy"
Really?!

D: "Something is different with your hair. You look like The Beatles in their 80s."
I was feeling....Ok that's enough, I'm going to the toilet now.

But then that awkward moment when I look into the mirror and feeling that I look like Pak Raden LoL, so I eventually change the bangs back to the side, and voila I look just like.. Normal Silvana

Just because something looks good on others, doesn't mean it will look good on me, and vice versa. So, I'll be just saying bye-bye to mid-parted bangs, and hellow back to the usual side-parted one! :D

I was having dinner with a bunch of friends the other day and someone popped up a question about the worst feeling in the world.

These were the answers as much as I recall:
-One-sided love
-Having no friends
-Loneliness
-Broken heart
-Long distance relationship
-Being left by our dear ones
-Failures
-etc

As for me, the worst feeling in the world is that stuck moment, when you have no idea whether you have to step forward or backward, whether you have to give up or give in, and that you have no idea what's going on at the moment, and you have no idea how to make things better.
Nothing beats that kind of feeling.

What Are You Looking At, Mr.Froggy?

Hello...been a while since the last time I updated my blog.
It's not because I'm that busy, but I often feels so tired as soon as I reached home, whether it's from the office or from any other places. Is it a sign of aging? Arghhh *poker face*

Well, there hadn't been so much of interesting activities I undergone these days.
Let me recall what had happened for this past 2 weeks.
Last 2 weeks I watched Urban Jazz Crossover at Grand City featuring a lot of Indonesian well known jazz musician eg: Harvey Malaiholo, Barry Likumahua, Andien, Tompi, Intan Soekotjo etc. The show was fantastic, but too bad it was a standing concert, so I had to stand up along the show. Nevertheless, it was all worth it! ❤.
Another activities were those of attending birthdays, hangout during the weekends with besties or families, watching DVDs, reading books, listening to my fave music. Sounds good or boring?

I also got gastric fever sickness last 2 weeks, which making my body rythm to be slower than usual. I was then been told by a friend that lemon is good to recover gastric problem, although it tasted sour, but the formula contains alkali that is good for the ulcer. After drinking it for 2 days, my body started to getting better. Well, that was how I finally getting used of drinking lemon water up until today to prevent my gatsric problem.
For those of you who have gastric problem, you should try this too.
It's so easy to make. You just need to squeeze a lemon to 1lt of water, and it's optional to add some sugar to make it taste less sourly. Voila, enjoy your beverage! :)

Bad news for the day was that one of my bestie, H is finally settling down in his town in Kediri today. No more same area bestie anymore :(
Well, I hope he gonna visit us often and bring those delicious bakwan and tofu stick from K town whenever he is coming around.

There's always a good news to cover up the bad news. A good friend of mine is getting engaged this coming November with her prince charming riding a white horse. The exciting journey for the marriage is just about to begin. I can sense the happiness in the air. Congratulations, Miss R :)

I'm not a morning person and exercising is definetely not my habit, but I want to change and make a difference.
To this extent, I'm starting a new habit of having a morning jog around the complex starting early of this week.
Since I'm cultivating a healthy habit, I feel gooddd and healthy for sure!
Well..I hope it's gonna be my long term habit *crossing fingers*

S: Why? You get it fixed already?
L: No. The other day I threatened my car. I said to it "Hey car, if I find you make a trouble once again, I'm gonna sell you out for sure!"
I just threatened him and finally the car works just fine, and makes no trouble at all up until today.
S: Seriously?! Amazing....
L: Yeahhh, it surely is. :)

I think the car is just as weird as the owner. Shortly they share the same world of weirdoness. Lolz

Time happens to be faster compared to how it used to be.
It's just like a blink of an eye, and just before I'm ready to reblink, a new week is ready to be giving a kick!
Last week I was in Jakarta, attending Graciana's wedding & feasting curiosity for taste & vision temptation, and finally this week's weekend just paid a visit once again! OMG!

So, by the way, how did you spend your weekend? I spent it by going shopping and reading a new book, a present from my colleague, 'My Life Undecided' by Jessica Brody. It's a nice book about a girl who always made bad decisions in life, & therefore she initiated to make a blog, & posted all her undecided plans to her blog, and let her readers decide for her, including her love & social life. At the end of the story, she realized, that although it's convenient to leave the decision on others, but for certain things, she had to decide by herself, not following what others dictated her to.

Have you ever wondered how your life would have been if every decisions you made was based on the majority vote rate? Somehow it could be interesting tho..

It's 11pm & tomorrow is Monday.

Hey Look! Who Just Turned 25?

While it has been a habit of me to greet my buddies on their birthdays,finally there came a time for me to greet myself on my birthday last week. So this was how I greet myself:
"Joyeux Anniversaire, Mademoiselle Silvana! May good things will always happen to you & may les joie de vivre will always be yours every now & then".

There's nothing more touching & meaningful when someone remember your birthday & put efforts to make your birthday a memorable one.

Credit goes to my besties, Miss S & Miss D for making me vanilla puffs & Japanese cheese cake with birdy theme as the topper. So proud of them. I still remember they said that they were willing to make cake only once a year for me, & the only chance was only on my birthday.I think I'm gonna change the term 'Making cake only on Silva's birthday' to 'Making cake whenever Silva wishing to eat cake'. Sounds like a good idea, yess?! Will surely propose it to each of them & they got to be agree. Yuhuuuu :D

Another thanks to Groetjes W for preparing my birthday gift before departing to Eindhoven. Biggetjes rocks, groetjes! :)

Also to my beloved office friends for making a scenario to bully me. I was all wet & cold. You got me!

Shortly, I wanna thank everyone, for the efforts, for the thoughtfulness, for the kind wishes, for the presents, for the cakes, for the surprises, and for all the greetings coming from the heart. They were priceless, & afterall it's not the value that matters, but the thoughtfulness did, & every little things will always be counted ♥ thank you!

May Day, May Day!

May Day, May Day! Crashhh....
May is finally landed...Yayy :)
May has always been & will always be my fave month of the year, beside December of course. Why?

I'm having my birthday this month! Ta dahhh :D
I don't know whether I am suppose to be happy or to be sad, having a birthday means that one more year will be added to the age, speaking of which the more number we got, the older we are. Pheew...but then I think it's just a number, & as long as I'm happy, what's the big deal anyway, right?!

I just got back from the hospital, visiting another bundle of joy, Baby Jeremy!
It has always been a touching moment witnessing the birth of a baby & seeing the joy of both parents. I just couldn't be more happy for the proud parents, Weta & Pauline! Congratulations to both of youu:)

That's it for today, I'm gonna sleep now. Why? There are 3 reasons:

1. I am sleepy & everyone in the house sleeps already
2. My skin needs better complexion
3. Need more energy for tomorrow

There's a time for everything under the heaven.
Many things happened just beyond our control, and sometimes things just don't happen the way we want them to be, for how much we wish them to fall just into places.
And sometimes, things just stay in place and endured endlessly without knowing when and how to stop.
But then, if sometime, out of the blue in a blue moon, an action is finally made, without knowing where the inspiration and courage coming from, I call it FATE.
I believe many things happened unpredictably, but one thing I am sure about and always believe in is that, things happened for a reason, and one dot has always been leading to another dots, that finally form a picture that I call it 'Picture of Life'. ^^

How have you guys been doing? My blackberry has coming back to life :) Just watched 21 Jump Street, a crazy yet entertaining movie. I just got to know that it is a remade movie which the original version was starred by Johnny Depp. Thinking to buy the dvd, so I think I'm gonna look for it at the dvd store this weekend. Probably buying some more Thai movies too as lately am in craze withThai movies that watching it can create that 'I-feel-good' kind of feeling. La la la....

Okay, moving on...
Still remember the shocking news I told about a buddy of mine who is tying the knot in Jakarta next month?
Well..I'm considering to attend the wedding...as I would really love to see her walking down the aisle with her prince charming, who happened to be a Singaporean-Indian race. I'm so excited! And I will definetely try that Union's red velvet cake too as I get there. Yeeehaa :)
The down part is that I have to splurge some more unexpected budget for this. Huaaaaa....so many unexpected expenses this lately, and I am surely need a donor. Anyone, pleaseee?! *green eyes* 
Huaa the eyes are getting greenier, gotta get them back in black.
So, I'll see ya another time when the sky is blue and the eyes are black.

Kartini Day, Ay Caramba!

Happy Kartini Day....
This is what i wore for Kartini commemoration day at my office today.
A new batik skirt combined with black cardigan that I pinned with a birdy brooch. Ay caramba!   I feel like a modern kartini. Yes, I am! :)

My bb has been broken for 2 days now, speaking of which It has been 2 days of me being bb-less. Well, I survive...But it has frustated me in many ways. I feel like being lost in my social circle and lost those precious night of chit-chating with buddies, peeking on twitters over working hour, and making me to call or sms to deliver those small messages. Aiyahhhh arghhhh grrrrrrr!! --'
A broken bb has making me realize how important a blackberry is to our daily life, while it's there we never really put attention to it, but when it's broken and when everything feels different, we just started to realize that it is those 'one of a kind' thing that we hardly able to be without.

For so many times in our lives we always take things for granted, but when it's really gone we just realize the importance of them. Sometimes it is too late to get them back, although sometimes it's not. 
I wish I could be someone who always be grateful for evething I have, and never complaning for every small matters occur in daily life, and never underestimate things up, regardless how small their relation is to our life.
This thing, I learn!

V for Vanilla

Just got back from 'Battleship' movie night, and it's a recommended moviee.👍
And just now I'm trying to get myself to sleep, but the eyes are widely opened and have no compromise. Hmm...so here I am browse a lil stuffs while listening to Foster's concert music video. I've been listening to this dvd over and over again since sometime ago that probably if it would have something to say, it probably would have said 'Stop torturing me, boss!'
Oh..and I'm so glad it couldn't 👀.

And today my bday buddy (we share the same birth date) BBMed me:

D: Waaaaa...the day is comingg soonn...How dya feel?
S: I stay at 25, another is just the additional numbers uncounted to the age :p How about you?
D: I stay at 21. Lol
S: You wishhh. Any updates yet?
D: Nothing serious yet. How about you?
S: Nothing serious also. Life is plain, as plain as vanilla. 
D: But vanilla is delicious.
S: You got it. Life is still bright and yummy how plain it is anyway.
D: Greatt!

As plain as vanilla. I learned this term from a buddy.
He said that if I like vanilla then I am plain. 🐤 You say?! :p
I just realised that we have lost contacted for some time and I wonder how he has been doing. Is he still like chocolate or maybe vanilla has been his new obsession? :p
