No Feast Last Forever

I finally finished on reading a life history of Oei Hui Lan, the daughter of Oei Tiong Ham, Asia Pacific richest man in the history.

In her early life, she got everything a girl can ever imagined.

As she grew into a beautiful young lady, she married Wellington Koo, who was the representative of China embassy, the one in charge in returning Sen Tung province from Japanese sovereignity to China authority.

She got everything that a grown up lady would ever wanted. Fame, power, wealth. She got them all, except for happiness.

She suffered because of the lack atention from her husband, the reality that her father died, and the conflicts she had with her mother and sister, and the loneliness she felt in her latter life.

These are the highlights of her several remarkable statements:

-"getting attached with those of the haves is not important, what's more important is our brain and personality. We can suffer because of the power, but we can obtain joy from humility, dignity, and straight personality. We have to appreciate others and as what my Mom says, we should be happy with what we already have"

-"I'm not regretting anything in my life. Wellington is not the perfect husband, but he is the fate that has given me perfect children and grand
children.",

"I feel so grateful that I can kexperience so many things better than any other women in this universe, including living with my dogs who have given me love and happiness at the latest years in my life. I hope one day they would be rebirth and by the time I'm sure we would
recognizing each other and learning from our bitter past to improve the current life."

-"while my father was still alive, he never taught me how to do business. All I know is just spending money without knowing how to earning
it back."

-"I never feel satisfied with what I already had. So did my father. He never satisfied with what he had, and so pity that his life ended
before he was able to enjoy the business empires he has built ambitiously. I learned a lot from my father's life. I never know what should be
added to my life. I have respected husband, perfect grown up children, and sumptuous inheritance from my father, and yet I still do not feel
satisfied at all."

-"his unsatisfactory is the root of my unhappiness, and so did my father."

Moral of the story that I could conclude is that we should be grateful for whatever we have now. Our life may not be perfect, but at least this
is the only life we have that we should live it up every now and then, as long as we are living in this whole bushes called universe.

After all, I agree with her signature statement, that "No Feast last forever". As I believe that there's a time to start everything, there is also a
time to end or transforming things up into another distinction.
